Historic Davenport Hotel and Italia Trattoria are among this year's '100 best brunch spots in America'

Two Spokane restaurants are among OpenTable's list of the "100 Best Brunch Spots in America" for 2017.

Sunday brunch at the Historic Davenport Hotel and Italia Trattoria are the only two Inland Northwest restaurants to receive the designation. No restaurants from Idaho were included.

The list is fashioned from more than 10 million reviews of 24,000 restaurants from March 2016 to February 2017 on the online reservation site.

A minimum overall score and number of reviews were needed for consideration. Restaurants were then scored upon the percentage of reviews which highlighted "great for brunch" among the special features.

The Davenport's Sunday brunch is a Spokane institution. A cornerstone of Spokane since the hotel was completed in downtown in 1914, the Davenport began serving Sunday brunch in 2002, when it reopened after a two-year restoration. Owners Walt and Karen Worthy were inspired by the Circle Brunch at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, where they regularly request table 13.

Italia Trattoria is a popular neighbor eatery in Spokane's historic Browne's Addition neighborhood. It serves brunch on weekends.

Other Washington state spots to make the top brunch list are Salty's on Alki Beach and the Queen Mary Tea Room, both in Seattle, as well as the dining room at the Salish Lodge and Spa in Snoqualmie.
